About the BandIn its 166th year, the Westerly Band continues to provide southern New England with a variety of popular, classical, and ethnic music and, of course, marches. Being both a concert wind ensemble and a marching band, the Westerly Band plays more than 20 "gigs" a year, and with its library of over 1000 pieces, it provides a different program for every performance. The National Game The Sousa Band was also a baseball team that played against rival bands and local teams of the towns they visited.
